Third Age runs three national programmes: SeniorLine, Fáilte Isteach and AgeWell. Each has its own team of volunteers and its own focus.
SeniorLine
A confidential listening service that provides emotional support for older people. Operated by trained volunteers, SeniorLine also advocates nationally for older people’s needs and concerns. For more information, visit SeniorLine.
Fáilte Isteach
A community project that welcomes people new to Ireland through conversational English classes delivered by volunteers around the country. Classes are informal and free. For more information, visit Fáilte Isteach.
AgeWell
An award-winning new model of integrated care supporting older people in their own homes. AgeWell Companions make regular home visits, offering social contact and links to local health and community services. For more information, visit AgeWell.
Get involved
There are many ways to get involved with Third Age.
Support callers through our national confidential phone service. Training and ongoing support provided. Volunteer as a listener.
Help people new to Ireland build confidence with conversational English classes.
Volunteer as a tutor.
Visit older people in their homes for regular social contact and wellbeing check-ins. Volunteer as a companion.
Help with activities, events and services at our community centre in Summerhill, Co. Meath. Get involved in Summerhill.
